In my mind, there is truly nothing better for the soul than great food, nature and…getting crafty. I have a huge 4 part series coming my Substack where I’ll be sharing some of my favourite artsy/quirky and crafty workshops and classes across London Town. I’ve pretty much tried them all, everything from calligraphy, taxidermy, candle making and more, so in this series I’ll be recommending my favourite classes and the specific workshops I’d recommend! P.S they are all perfect for solo dates too.

Pottery, East London

One of my goals this year is to sign up for another Pottery Course - I did one back in 2020 (right before the pandemic) and throughly enjoyed myself! I love Crown Works Pottery in Bethnal Green (link), they run 1/2 day workshops, 2 hour taster classes and also longer course - mine was a 6 weeks of throwing course where you spend 3 classes learning how to throw on the wheel and the final 3 classes are dedicated to turning (finished details like adding footrings to the base of your pots!) and glazing your objects! It’s much harder than it looks but what a delight to have handmade pottery in your home! I also love the look of the Turning Earth Ceramic studio + classes in Hackney (link) and Dalston Clay in Dalston (link).

Ring Making Workshop, London Bridge, The Ringsmiths

For Christmas G booked me onto a jewellery making class which I’d never done before and I loved it so much, I immediately want to book on for another. The Ringsmiths is in London Bridge and they have a range of ring making workshops, from casting your own necklaces, rings, signet rings and also a wedding ring workshop. You learn how to either cast and decorate your jewellery and can add gems and gold plating (both for an extra cost). This is a super special activity that’ll add a completely unique addition to your wardrobe, I’d highly recommend it! I still haven’t shown anyone the two rings I made at my workshop - let me know if you’re interested in that!
