London is THRIVING - there is so much to do and see throughout May. From food festivals, comedy fringes, art birthdays, game bars and even absinthe tastings… I’ve chosen out my top picks of events in the capital and I hope this gives you inspo as to what to do as a solo, friendly or romantic date this month!

Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre, From 10th May, from £15 - £65, link

If you fancy going to the theatre this summer, I really recommend Regents Park Open Air Theatre for a really memorable experience! They have a different show on every month this summer, kicking off with ‘Shucked’ - a musical comedy and Broadway hit that sounds very funny. There’s a bar inside the theatre so you can grab a pimms, catch up with friends before heading to your seats to watch theatre outside, as dusk hits - it’s quite romantic!

Abstract Art Classes at Barge East, link

If you’re after a wholesome, creative evening with a view, Barge East are hosting monthly abstract painting workshops on their dreamy rooftop garden. Led by artist Dan Whiteson, these laid-back classes are inspired by iconic artists—this month it’s Georgia O’Keefe. No experience needed, and it’s all outdoors with riverside vibes. Not into painting? Their food is fab too—book in for a Sunday roast or try their £30 two-course pre-show menu if you’re heading to ABBA Voyage or Sadler’s Wells East nearby.

Afterwards: I love All My Friends for drinks afterwards, they have great music and you can also do a spot of vinyl shopping!

Guinness bar at the Ned, Pop up, Until 17th June, link

A Guinness pop up is coming to The Ned over the next couple of months and I have a feeling it’ll be a great evening out. The Guinness Bar will take over the Long Bar downstairs in the old bank vault-turned lounge (you get to walk through the incredible heavy steel vault door which is a great experience), and you can expect delicious pints, Guinness infused cocktails and snacky bar bites (think Guinness bread and coriander humous and mini beef and onion pies with Guinness gravy). It’s open Tuesday to Saturday nights - perfect for post-work drinks or date night if you want a touch of speakeasy glamour with your stout.

Afterwards: Grab some sushi upstairs at Kaia or go for a walk around the Royal Exchange!
